Andrea Bocelli Newark Concert reviews
Bocelli, I love you, but this was a waste of time and money.
Went to see Bocelli on V-Day with my Mom, sister, my Mom’s friend, and my Mom’s friend’s Aunt. Five people total. Two of which flew from Toronto, two drove from 3 hours away, and one was 20 minutes away from the venue. I purchased our tickets altogether in late December for over $1000 and I feel completely ripped off. Bocelli is a living legend and an amazing vocalist, there’s no denying that, however, I was not happy with the overall program of the night. The show started 20 minutes late. People were late showing up all throughout the show as well, so we had to keep getting up out of our seats to let them in, which was incredibly annoying and disruptive. Then there was like a half hour of music and performance before we were ushered into an intermission for 20 minutes. The performers for rest of the night were okay, but I feel like we didn’t get enough from the legend himself because it was mainly other people being used as fillers. He brought his wife out on stage and she was really annoying. There was no Matteo or Virginia. Then he decides to close out the show randomly without singing ANY of the songs that he is popularly known for. We cheer for an encore. He sings Time To Say Goodbye. Then attempts to end the show again by leaving. We cheer on another encore. He sings another song and then proceeds to leave. We cheer for yet another encore and he closes out the show with Nessun Dorma and leaves. I was in my seat completely confused and disappointed. The show finished at 10:24pm. Leaving the venue was disorganized chaos. They blocked off all the other entrance doors and left the main doors open for everyone to rush to and exit out of. Overall, I will NEVER attend another Bocelli concert ever again. It was definitely not worth the time and the money.
